Greetings!
As the year comes to an end,
Luciana and I look back with gratitude and
excitement at the progress that the Children's
Fund has made. It is because of your support that
we were able to raise close to $35,000 since we
first decided to expand our efforts in June of
this year. This support will go towards improving
the living conditions of 24 impoverished and
disabled children in Argentina.
In addition, we are excited to
announce the expansion of the Children's Fund. We
welcome you to share in our joy, experiences, and
future initiatives through this newsletter. As
always, we enjoy hearing from our friends and
supporters. Feel free to drop us a note with your
feedback or questions at info@rdchildrensfund.org.
We wish everyone a wonderful holiday season filled
with loved ones and great food.
Sincerely,

We're
Expanding!
Luciana
and Robert have long supported projects and
organizations focused on improving the conditions of
children in need around the world. Some of the
organizations that have been supported by the
Duvalls include INOVA Fairfax Hospital for Children,
the Community Coalition for Haiti, the Young Concert
Artist, and local literacy campaigns.
Beginning 2010, the Robert Duvall Children's Fund (RDCF)
will begin raising awareness and support for other
organizations geared towards the construction of
schools and the improvement of educational programs
for children in need throughout the world. Our goal
for 2010 is to assist four 501 c (3) organizations
through our campaigns.
It is our pleasure to welcome the Father and
Daughter Alliance (FADA) to the RDCF family. FADA is
committed to establishing 5 fathers' associations
for daughters' advancement in five sectors/slums of
Delhi. Through these associations fathers will
be encouraged to interact with their daughters and
discover their value and dignity.
Through these relationships, FADA hopes to decrease
the number of young girls exposed to sexual assault
and violence while promoting equal rights for
education and other opportunities. In addition, FADA
hopes to become active advocates against violence
towards women in Afghanistan while promoting
education for young girls. For more information
about FADA please visit them at http://www.globalfada.org/index.html
or contact Pedro Moreno at pmoreno@fatheranddaughter.org

Looking
back on 2009
Dear Friends,
We would like to take this time to thank you all for
your generosity and interest in the Robert Duvall
Children's Fund. As you know, October and November
were full of exciting events for RDCF. Our events
kicked off in Texas on October 17th with a wonderful
gathering of friends and supporters. The generous
Mr. Danny Davis, Mr. Todd Phillips, Mrs. Debbie
Phillips, Mr. Lawrence Berry and Mr. Greg Harkness
hosted this special event.
The following weekend we headed off to Arlington, VA
to participate in this year's Marine Corps Marathon.
Our team of 14 runners displayed and extraordinary
dedication to the cause. All of our runners
completed either the 10K or the full marathon in
great time. In fact, Mathew Bierlein placed 3rd in
the overall 10K with a finish time of 33:09 minutes!
Thanks to their efforts we have been able to direct
a considerable amount of attention to the needs of
impoverished children in Argentina.
Next, we had a wonderful turnout for the
"Hearts for Hope Paella Luncheon" on
November 1, 2009 with special guest David Baldacci.
Thanks to many generous contributions we
were able to raise support for the Community
Coalition for Haiti, INOVA Fairfax Hospital for
Children and the Robert Duvall Children's Fund. This
support will allow us to meet the needs of many
children in Haiti, Argentina and right here in
Virginia.
Finally, we concluded this year's events on November
4th with a wonderful wine tasting fundraiser at the
Iron Bridge Wine Bar in Warrenton, Virginia. Our
guest bartenders created a fun and exciting
atmosphere through a friendly competition for tips
that would later be donated to RDCF. Thanks to them,
the staff, and our guests we raised over $600 for
our current construction projects in Argentina.
We hope that you have enjoyed your time with the
Duvalls this year and look forward to welcoming many
more supporters to the cause in 2010. Thank
you for you continued interest. May your season be
filled with joy.
Warm Regards,

Daisy J. Rosales
Executive Director
